This is the second longest track on the album and one of its most relentless. It sonically captures the frenzy of modern life under capitalism: absurd, crushing, and suffocating everything in its path, humans and nature alike. An infernal machine that deepens inequality, yet like any machine, it can be destroyed. And in the heart of all that chaos? “There’s no lack of void” – as the ending suggests.
We chose to illustrate this song with images from the great movie Koyaanisqatsi (1982), which depicts these topics and feeling with perfection (please watch the whole movie).
Album mixed internally by Pierre ‘Gorgor’ Schaffner, mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate), artwork by Ethan Lee McCarthy (Primitive Man, Vermin Womb).
