AUDIO PUNISHMENT FOR SOCIAL DEFIANCE.
Grinding Death Metal from Nancy, France.

DEATH WHORE has been forging its identity since 2020 at the crossroads of death metal and DIY punk culture, using sonic brutality as a vehicle to explore the absurdity and violence of the contemporary world. Drawing on the radicalness of grindcore and crust, the trio from Nancy (France) crafts a filthy, suffocating strain of death metal summed up by a motto: “Audio Punishment for Social Defiance”.

More than a musical influence, the DIY punk ethos shapes both the band’s creative vision and the way it operates. Their lyrics employ satire and the grotesque to examine the absurdity of contemporary society, urban alienation and structures of domination. Influenced as much by the absurdism of Samuel Beckett as by the oppressive urban landscapes of J. G. Ballard, they portray a world where brutality has become ordinary, making collapse seem inevitable.

That same tension runs through the music. Blistering, confrontational passages collide with slower, cinematic sections where keyboards and samples create a constant feeling of confinement and unease.

Following two EPs (s/t, 2020, and Total Teutonic Torso, 2022), DEATH WHORE released its debut full-length album, Blood Washes Everything Away, in 2025 through a collaboration between Duality Records, Specific Recordings, Crypt of Dr. Gore, Hecatombe Records and No Good To Anyone Productions. Mixed by Pierre “Gorgor” Schaffner at Studio de la Forge, mastered by James Plotkin (Khanate, Thou, Conan), and featuring artwork by Ethan Lee McCarthy (Primitive Man), the record fully establishes DEATH WHORE’s artistic identity.

Remaining true to its DIY roots, DEATH WHORE handles its own recording, production and much of its overall development while working closely with independent labels and carving its own path within the underground networks where extreme metal and punk intersect.
